Jungle Luxury in Wellness Hotspot Ubud

Surrounded by rice fields and vast jungle, in the centre of Bali, lies the popular artisan town of Ubud. It is no wonder that the cultural heart of the island is growing exponentially, seeing what this area has to offer. Other than the abundance of natural beauty, there are plenty of mystical temples to discover, physical and spiritual healing centres and a wide choice of excellent restaurants and unique shops.

Ubud is the perfect destination to unwind and ground; luckily many hotels will give you all the opportunity to do so. One of the more luxurious accomodation options in this range is the beautiful Alila Ubud Hotel.

This lavish retreat is located a short 15 minutes outside of town and situated along the River Ayung, offering stunning views of the palm fringed valley. The ‘piece de resistance’ is undeniably the emerald-green infinity pool stretching into the jungle, where many hours can be spent taking up the tranquility of the surroundings.

Modern designs are eclectically mixed with traditional Balinese architecture. There are many different room styles to choose from, ranging from superior rooms to private pool villas. The unbelievably scenic Terrace Tree Villa stood out for us, mainly because of the setting.

Farm-to-table dining experiences are offered in the plantation restaurant. However, if you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion, dinner can be set up in the sculpture garden or in the luxurious private bale overlooking the greenery, the choice is yours. Cocktails are served in the Cabana Lounge and every day at 4pm, afternoon tea is served in the pool bar.

At the retreat you can participate in yoga and tai-chi classes, indulge in spa treatments, use the 24hr gym or sign your kids up for Balinese dance lessons. A variety of activities are offered including, but not limited to, hiking, visiting mountain villages, rafting or visiting hot springs.

The Alila Group give back to their communities by participating in local initiatives such as poverty projects and recycling solutions.

Looking to charge your batteries in an luxurious natural environment? This is the place for you.
